Hi, I’m Romy. I plan weddings like a restaurant on a Saturday night.

Calm, organized and a little obsessed with timing. Since 2014 I’ve planned 140 weddings across the Hudson Valley, New York City and the Catskills, from City Hall dinners for 24 to estate weddings for 220.

How I got here.

How I got here.

In 2013 my sister got married in a field in Columbia County. It rained, the tent arrived late and I ended up running the whole day with a clipboard and a borrowed raincoat.

At the time I managed private events for a busy Brooklyn restaurant: four hundred covers on a Saturday, a kitchen that runs on timing, and guests who never see the chaos. A wedding, it turns out, is the same job with more emotion and better music.

I started Romy Fairfax Weddings the following spring. Today the studio is three people, a storefront office in Hudson and one simple promise: on your wedding day, you are a guest. Everything else is on us.

Three rules I don’t break.

Three rules I don’t break.

They come from 140 weddings and a few lessons learned the hard way.

  1. One timeline for everyone.

Every vendor gets the same minute-by-minute plan, two weeks before. The florist knows when the caterer arrives, and the DJ knows when the toasts end.

  2. One person you call.

From the first tour to the last sparkler, you have one number. Vendors call me, your aunt calls me, and you get to enjoy being engaged.

  3. A plan B for everything.

Rain, heat, a late shuttle, a lost ring. Each risk on your day gets a written backup, decided calmly months before.

Nora & Teddy, September 2025. The forecast said 10%. Here is how the next 22 minutes went.

  • 3:08

First drops. Tent sides go down, as rehearsed.

  • 3:12

Twenty umbrellas out of the van, guests walked in.

  • 3:20

Chairs moved, band moved, officiant briefed.

  • 3:30

Ceremony starts on time, under canvas.

The team on your day.

The team on your day.

You’ll meet all of us before the wedding. On the day, at least two of us are there from the first vendor to the last.
